I-10 Widening Project Continues With Lane Closures All This Week

DOTD workers continue their work to widen the 7-mile section of I-10 from I-49 to Breaux Bridge this week.

From tonight until Sunday, August 20, the westbound left lane of I-10 from the Vermilion Bridge to the Louisiana Avenue Bridge, will be closed for hydro demolition. This will happen nightly from 8 PM to 6 AM, weather permitting.

Also, on Thursday and Friday, the north and southbound lanes of La. Avenue will be closed under the I-10 overpass for hydro demolition over La. Avenue. This will happen nightly from 8 PM to 6 AM, weather permitting.

The detour route for northbound and southbound traffic on Louisiana Avenue is as follows:

Northbound: Take I-10 eastbound to LA 328, then back to I-10 westbound to continue north on Louisiana Avenue.

Southbound: Take I-10 westbound to I-49, then back to I-10 eastbound to Louisiana Avenue to continue south.
