Members of the Iberia Parish Sheriff's Crime Reduction Team stopped a 2003 Mitsubishi Eclipse last night because they saw the driver driving left of center on Avery Island Road.

Deputies report that while they were conducting the traffic stop they saw methamphetamine on the floorboard of the car.

Crime Reduction Team members arrested 48-year-old Thomas Toucheque of Kaplan.

Iberia Parish Sheriff's Office Spokesman Captain Wendell Raborn says the drugs have a street value of $5,400.

Toucheque was booked into jail on the following charges:

  • Driving left of center
  • Obstruction of Justtice
  • Possession of Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance
