Iberia Deputies Search For Home Invasion Suspect

Iberia parish Sheriff's officials are investigating a home invasion that happened around 8 o'clock last night in the 600 block of Weeks Street.

Iberia Sheriff Louis Ackal says deputies got the to find out that the victims said the suspect forced his way into their home and demanded money.

The suspect, a black males wearing a striped shirt and a ski mask, pointed a hangun at the 70-year-old woman while he demanded money from the 72-year-old man.

Detectives say the suspect was able to make off when an undisclosed amount of money.  He fled in an unknown direction.

No one was injured during the crime.
