Iberia Parish Council Lawsuit Dismissed By Federal Court Judge

Wednesday Judge Rebecca Doherty dismissed a lawsuit filed by the Iberia Parish Council against Shane Romero. The suit claimed Romero, an attorney, exerted an undue amount of influence over parish business and filed official paperwork in his father's name. Romero's father is Iberia Parish President Errol 'Romo' Romero. According to our news partner, KATC, the suit asked that Shane Romero be prevented from acting as a Parish official and to prevent him from entering nonpublic areas of the Iberia Parish offices.

The suit was dismissed without prejudice which means the Iberia Parish Council can refile the suit at some later date.
