Iberia Parish Council Overrides Romero’s Veto

The Iberia Parish Council voted to override Parish President Errol Romero's veto of the ordinance that set penalties for a charter violation.

According to our newspartners at KATC TV-3, The vote for the override came in at 11-2.

The council's attorney said that any investigative agency, which includes the parish council, may look into a complaint of a charter violation.

Council Clerk Diane Phillips said that the ordinance took effect upon passage Wednesday night, but it would not be retroactive.
