(KPEL) -- Police in New Iberia are investigating the failed attempted burglary of a local pawn shop.

Capt. Ryan Turner, a spokesperson for the Iberia Parish Sheriff's Office, says deputies were dispatched to an alarm call at the Cash Out Pawn store on Lewis Street at around 1:30 a.m. Tuesday. When officers arrived, they found broken glass in front of the store, Turner says.

"Deputies determined the burglars were not able to make entry into the business after watching a surveillance video that captured the incident," Turner says.

That video shows two men using an object to break a window, Turner says.

If you have any information regarding this incident, you're asked to call police.
