Iberia Parish Jailer Taken Hostage By Inmates

Three inmates in Iberia Parish have added more time to their stay after they took their jailer hostage early Saturday morning, sparking a standoff with police. Authorities say two-and-a-half hours after the standoff began, SWAT breached the cell and were able to rescue the deputy, who sustained injuries. He has since been treated and released from the hospital. The three inmates, Victor Goodman, Jeremy Richard, and Brian Segura, are charged with attempted first degree murder of a police officer.
