Weather permitting tomorrow night, September 24th, the Iberia Parish Mosquito Abatement District will begin aerial spraying over the incorporated municipalities in the parish.

The mayor's office says they want to spray Tuesday to hopefully control the mosquito population as the Sugar Cane Festival gears up this week.

Residents may notice multiple aircraft overhead spraying to get rid of mosquitoes, and the spraying will take about two and 1/2 hours to complete.

Here are the areas that will be sprayed:

  • The City of New Iberia --- Squirrel Run, Acadian Acres, Belle Place Olivier, Morbihan, Cleco Rd. and all points in between.
  • The City of Jeanerette --- Hwy 87, Marais, Admiral Doyle, St. Mary Parish line, Hwy 807, Right Way Rd., LSU Bridge and all points in between.
  • The Town of Delcambre --- Delcambre Canal, Dooley, Bilbo, Hwy 14, E. LeBlanc, Pitre and all points in between.
  • The Town of Loreauville --- Bronson, Patio, Cestia, Twin Pines, Roe and all points in between.
