Captain Ryan Turner, Spokesman for the Iberia Parish Sheriff’s Office, tells KPEL a small single engine plane crashed in a field in the area near the intersection of Highway 90 and Dubois Road.  The pilot was conscious when he was taken by ambulance to the hospital.

Turner says that, while the investigation is far from complete, investigators on the scene believe it is a possibility that why doing “touch and go’s”, the pilot may have hit a power line.  Turner says the pilot was working on taking off and landing in that field.

While Dubois Road was closed briefly, things are clear in the area as far as traffic.  He says no one else was injured, but other officials will be out later to investigate.
