Iberia Parish To Charge Man With Unauthorized Entry

Last night just after 8:30, Iberia deputies were called by a man saying that someone was trying to break into his balcony bedroom door.

Iberia deputies say the man armed himself with a hand gun and fired two shots at the intruder.

The intruder, later identified as Charles Prince, was hit with one bullet in his left arm.  He is being treated at a local hospital.

Police say another 911 call was made by Charles Prince when he was on East Admiral Doyle Drive saying he had been shot at the victim's home.

After investigating, the Iberia Parish Sheriff's Office Bureau of Investigation says they will apply for a warrant for Prince's arrest for unauthorized entry of an inhabited dwelling.
