NEW ORLEANS (AP) — Ice and freezing rain has pushed back jury selection by another day for the bribery trial of former New Orleans Mayor Ray Nagin.

Monday's first day ended without a panel being seated. The court was closed Tuesday because of the forecast of icy weather in New Orleans. It planned to resume selection Wednesday but canceled court after inclement weather was forecast for that day, too.

Nagin's attorney, Robert Jenkins, tells The Associated Press, he was notified the selection process would resume at 9 a.m. Thursday.

Nagin served two terms before leaving office in 2010. He faces charges of accepting bribes and free trips among other things from contractors in exchange for helping them secure millions of dollars in city work.
