The above photo is of a skillet I've owned my entire adult life. It stays on my stove top. I literally never put it away. You can cook almost anything in one of these. I recently wrote about making a guacamole chicken salad sandwich. The chicken was baked in that skillet. I've broiled steaks, burgers, pork chops, & kabobs in it. It's cooked pancakes, cornbread, countless omelettes, and much more. Cast iron helps prevent anemia. It heats more evenly than aluminum (Magnalite, T-Fal) and is much more durable. It's also easier to care for and clean, even if you burn something in it....
