The Louisiana Attorney General's Cyber Crime Unit has made another arrest on charges of child pornography possession.

Jeff Landry's office announces that Telesforo Lopez-Silva of Sulphur, an illegal immigrant, was arrested on 3 counts of possession of sexual abuse images/videos dealing with children under thirteen.

Lopez-Silva was arrested after a join investigation of the following agencies:

  • The Sulphur Police Department
  • Homeland Security
  • The Louisiana Bureau of Investigations Cyber Crime Unit

AG Landry's Office says Immigration and Customs (ICE) has placed a hold on him in the Calcasieu Correctional Center.

Landry says,

In our fight against sanctuary city polices this past legislative session, I warned of the danger that illegal immigrants and these policies bring to our communities. Many claimed ICE would not detain illegals if arrested, but this case proves the inaccuracy of their argument. Sanctuary city policies encourage illegal immigration, which endangers the safety of Louisiana’s people. Despite opposition from the Governor and his political allies, our office intends to be a model in arresting illegal criminals and stopping this reckless agenda that threatens public safety.”

Landry's Cyber Crime Unit reminds anyone knowing about any of this type of activity can report it to the Louisiana Bureau of Investigation at 800-256-4506.
