US District Judge Richard Haik heard a guilty plea today from 32 year old Luis Alberto Hernandez of Mexico.

Hernandez plead guilty to falsely claiming to be a US citizen. Law enforcement learned that illegal aliens were returning to Abbeville from working offshore. Hernanadez was questioned and claimed he was from Texas, gave agents a false name, Social Security number and Louisiana ID card. Later he admitting to being a citizen of Mexico and gave agents his true name.

Hernandez faces a term of three years in prison, one year of supervised probation and a $250,000 fine. A sentencing date has not been set.
