More time is needed to launch a private sector-based health-care delivery system for the poor here in Louisiana. State Health and Hospitals Secretary Bruce Greenstein says the new coordinated care network program will begin being put in place in February of next year instead of January. Greenstein says the phase in will begin in the New Orleans area and should be completed by mid-2012. Five private insurance companies have been chosen to manage health care for some two-thirds of the state's $1.2 million Medicaid recipients.
