They can't blame this one on a MARTA bus like they did when experts imploded the Georgia Dome in Atlanta a few weeks ago. That implosion actually worked. This one did not.

The Silverdome in Pontiac Michigan is the former home of the Detroit Lions football team. The team moved to Ford Field several years ago and the stadium was no longer needed.

According to a report by USA Today, the failure is being blamed on a wiring issue. The contractor hired for the job will have to go back to the drawing board and come up with plan B. Personally I'd be more afraid of a partially imploded building than the pre-imploded state.

The contractor also alluded to a trespassing incident the night before the implosion that could have been the cause of the wiring misfire. Regardless, the remains of the Silverdome are right where they were yesterday.
