32 year old Douglas Darrell Harris pleaded guilty yesterday to beating a fellow inmate at the Federal Correctional Institution in Oakdale. Evidence was presented at the guilty plea that Harris beat a fellow inmate twice in one day. One instance was caught on surveillance camera and the other incident was witnessed by a guard. The injured inmate suffered fractured fingers, a broken arm, blurred vision and head head pain. The inmate also suffered a seizure after the beating and was admitted to the intensive care unit. Surgery was required to repair his fingers.

Harris faces up to 10 additional years in prison, three years supervised release and a $250,000 fine. Sentencing has been set for February 12, 2015.
