Intersection/Bridge Closures In Lafayette Parish This Week

In Carencro, the Bajat Road Bridge crossing Bayou Carencro Lateral 4, just south of Bajat’s intersection with Ombrage Road, is now closed until further notice. Mark B. Dubroc, Director of Public Works, says the emergency bridge closure is because of the structural deficiency of the timber piles and the bridge will remain closed until sufficient funds are allocated to replace the bridge. Appropriate detour routes are established.

In Lafayette, the Verot School Road widening project continues at Verot’s intersection with Carolyn Drive, as it will be closed to traffic until 7 PM Friday, August 4^th. The detour route will include Gathright Street and Mathews Drive and signs will be posted.
