Investigation Continues Into Man’s Shooting Death In New Iberia

Iberia Parish Sheriff Louis Ackal says his detectives are still investigating after a man was shot to death near the intersection of Sam and Ann Streets in New Iberia.

The victim has been identified as 24-year-old Uriah Joseph of New Iberia.

A warrant for 2nd Degree Murder has been issued in this case for Michael Augustine.

Deputies were called to the scene and found Joseph suffering multiple gunshot wounds.

Deputies gave the Joseph CPR along with paramedics while taking the him to the hospital.  He was pronounced dead at the hospital by the Iberia Parish Coroner's Office.
