Investigation Leads To Arrest of 15-Year-Old Girl In St. Mary Parish Man’s Death

The St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Office, in conjunction with the Berwick Police Department, have announced a 15-year-old female has been arrested for her involvement in the death of Willie Francis.  The St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Office has not given further details of the girl's involvement in the man's death.

A St. Mary Parish Sheriff's deputy patrolling the Bayou Vista area on Tuesday, October 29 found Willie Francis' car on Highway 90 with the engine still running.

Detectives, concerned for the man's welfare, started an investigation to find out where Francis might be.

The next day, Wednesday, October 30, the Berwick Police got a call after a body was found along Highway 182.  It was determined that the man was 23-year-old Willie Francis of Bayou Vista.

The girl was arrested Tuesday, November 5 for second degree murder.

Police say the investigation is still going on.
