There was a time when a first date was dinner, maybe dinner & a movie. That wasn't long ago, but times are changing. Today's singles have more ways than ever to meet. Tinder, Match.com, and social media have made it easier for people to "check each other out" before actually meeting. Millennials are demonstrating an unwillingness to invest the time, or money on dinner for a first date. Spending an hour or more is widely viewed as a time consuming possibly tedious proposition, according to the New York Post. It's also expensive. The tab for dinner for two at a mid level restaurant can easily top $75.00 if you have a couple drinks. That's a costly way to find out your spending time with someone with whom you have no chemistry. Today's preferred first date is getting acquainted over coffee or drinks. That makes sense to me. It's a lot less pressure, and expense.
