“It’s A Human Thing” Is Point Of Lafayette Native’s Song
I know Alicia Cibola from when she lived here in Lafayette. We went to the same church. Alicia and her family are wonderful people. Alicia, like so many of us, have been overwhelmed with the amount of death in the news in recent months. Here's what she says on Facebook:
"Family and friends: ALL of this killing and division is TOO much. I am disappointed, broken-hearted and haven't slept in days. So, I wrote a song. I know that I am not the only one in pain. It's inspired by the recent mass shootings and bombings; and the deaths of #AltonSterling #PhilandoCastileand #SandraBland. I hope that this speaks to someone.#ItCouldveBeenMe [Watch in full screen mode to read the lyrics at the bottom]"
No matter what you think about the things that dominate the news, one thing Alicia has correct is, "it's a human thing". You take what you want from her song. I just thought I'd share it.
