Louisiana Ragin' Cajun big man JaKeenan Gant currently stands as the only D1 college basketball player averaging at least 18 points, 7 rebounds and 3 blocks per game this season.

The senior from Springfield, Georgia is 1 of 50 players named to the Lou Henson Award Mid-Season watch list today, collegeinsider.com announced today.

Gant currently leads the Ragin' Cajuns (10-5, 1-1 SBC) in scoring (18.5), rebounds (7.7) field goal percentage (.533) and blocked shots (3.0).

The Lou Henson Award is given to the best mid-major player in college basketball each season, and is presented at the College Insider awards event in April.

Gant is 1 of 5 players from the Sun Belt to make today's list. Joining him are Tookie Brown of Georgia Southern, Nijal Pearson of Texas State, D'Marcus Simonds of Georgia State and Jordan Varnado of Troy.
