Acadiana's own James Dupré is one of the featured performers for the all star tribute to Randy Travis tonight in Nashville. The star studded show is called 'A Heroes and Friends Tribute to Randy Travis', and it promises to be one of the highlights of a stellar career for the newest member of the Country Music Hall of Fame.

The show is being held at the Bridgestone Arena, and proceeds will benefit the Randy Travis Foundation, non-profit organization that raises money for stroke research and rehabilitation. Travis suffered a stroke in 2013, which took away his ability to speak and walk. He is continuing to make progress, and has been spotted out and about at various country music events in the last year.

Dupré starred with Travis in the 2015 film 'The Price', and you can see the official movie trailer below. In 2013 Randy Travis also filmed 'Christmas on the Bayou' for the Lifetime Network here in Acadiana. He had just completed shooting here when he suffered the devastating stroke.

Other performers for the show tonight include Garth Brooks, Tanya Tucker, Alabama, Wynonna, Kenny Rogers, Josh Turner, Travis Tritt, William Michael Morgan, Chris Janson and Neal McCoy.

James Dupré, who was a 2015 contestant on NBC's hit show 'The Voice', said 'It's an incredible honor to be sharing the stage with so many artists that I love, paying tribute to one of my heroes, a true country music legend'.
