Jeanerette Interim Police Chief Approved

Aprill Foulcard, Mayor of Jeanerette, called a special meeting today of the Board of Alderman to discuss the immediate future of the Jeanerette Police Department.

In a unanimous vote, Gloria Lombard will be interim Chief of Police for the city until June 30 and then a permanent replacement will be appointed in July.

The city will begin advertising for the position immediately.

Former Chief Marvin Grogan resigned yesterday after being

arrested last Friday by Lafayette Metro Narcotics agents as part of an investigation into a Lafayette Gentleman's Club. Grogan has been charged with one count of malfeasance in office and three counts of compounding a felony.
