A month after former Police Chief Marvin Grogan resigned from the Jeanerette Police Department Jeanerette is still without a permanent replacement. According to our news partner KATC the Board of Aldermen is waiting for a decision from the Louisiana Attorney General's Office on a question posed by City Marshal Fernest Martin. Last week Martin asked whether the Marshal's office can enter into an intergovernmental agreement to provide administrative and management oversight to the Jeanerette Police Department.

Former Chief Marvin Grogan was charged with several counts of malfeasance in office in May after his arrest as part of sting operation at Lipstick Gentleman's Club in Lafayette.
