The Jefferson Davis Parish Police Jury is going to approach the Louisiana Legislature about allowing an increase in the amount of money they take in at the court.

The money would be use to by for services of the district attorney's office, judges and the coroner's office.

The Jefferson Davis Police Jury is going to ask lawmakers to approve a 10 dollar additional cost for:

  • Criminal cases
  • Traffic violations

The move would mean about $100,000 more a year in revenue.  Part of the money would be used to help pay for the costs of running the function of the court and district attorney's office.

The remainder of the money would be used to fund the coroner's office.
