Jennings Man Dies In Shooting

A shooting suspect is on the loose after leaving one man dead and another person injured.

Crowley Police Chief K.P. Gibson says the incident happened Sunday night after 11 pm in the 1100 block of West Seventh Street. Police say 25-year-old Jonathon Mouton of Jennings was parked in the driveway of the home with other people inside, when the suspect fired multiple shots into the vehicle, killing him.

The person that was injured suffered only moderate injuries while other people involved suffered minor injuries.

Police have not identified the suspect and are still trying to figure out a motive. “I want to clarify that this was not a drive by shooting nor a random shooting. We believe that the shooter, who was on foot, had a motive for this senseless act” stated Chief K.P. Gibson.

If you know anything about this crime, call Crime Stoppers of Acadia Parish at 789-TIPS or the Crowley Police Department at (337) 788-4112.
