Jennings Woman Arrested For Extortion

A Jennings woman is under arrest, charged with taking an elderly man for tens of thousands of dollars. State Police say Brooke Cormier contacted the victim, telling him she was wrongfully arrested and charged with prostitution. On other occasions, Cormier would call the victim, saying she was an FBI agent, judge, or from the D.A.'s office. He gave Cormier over $20,000.

When the FBI got wind of this, they set up a sting where the man would give her more money, but instead of cash, she got cuffs. Cormier is now in the Jefferson Davis Parish Jail.
