Jesse Jackson must need a paycheck.  Haven't heard anything from Jackson in months but now he is urging President Obama to have the Department of Homeland Security to patrol the streets of Chicago to deal with soaring gun violence .  Jackson said,

The full weight of the government needs to be devoted to stopping the city’s gun problems.

Chicago has the strictest gun laws in the nation yet 42 people were killed by gunfire as of last weekend (that number may be higher today).  Maybe, just maybe, if enforcement of current laws were to happen the number of violent deaths would decrease.  Not a new or novel thought but that to me seems like the first step.  Instead of that logical first step Jackson wants the Administration to use Homeland Security to solve the problem.  My question for Reverend (I use that title very loosely) Jackson is,

What exactly do you expect Homeland Security to do?

Does Jackson want Homeland Security to patrol the streets with I assume semi-automatic weapons and bullet-proof vests?  Does Jackson want Homeland Security to go door-to-door to confiscate all weapons whether they are legally purchased and registered?

You may remember a few months back there was a furor when it was discovered that many Federal agencies including Homeland Security, Department of Health and Hospitals and even Social Security had ordered millions of rounds of ammunition.  At the time many were wondering what the purpose might be.  Now are you beginning to get the picture?  Members of the US military forces swear an allegiance to protect and uphold the Constitution of the United States....not the whims of the President.  So, if you can't get the military to do the dirty work get some other benign sounding government agency to step in (insert background music of your choice here like AC/DC's 'Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap').  Don't laugh.  Could happen in our lifetime.

Believe me this is not some conspiracy theory of mine but it just makes you wonder if Jackson's agenda is not playing directly into the hands of the Manipulator in Chief.
