Governor Bobby Jindal has signed an updated version of the Grad Act which is designed to focus state colleges and universities on getting results while rewarding them with greater economic freedom if they measure up. The new Grad Act is intended to promote more market based decisions from Universities in an effort to streamline their operations. Jindal says LSU's main campus is a good example of how much the new act could save taxpayers. The governor says he knows if all the state universities can follow the example set by LSU, the state can save millions of dollars, while providing a better education.
