Jordan Wallace

Louisiana Ragin' Cajun softball pitcher Jordan Wallace was named the Louisiana Sports Writers Association Pitcher of the Week on Monday, after her efforts last weekend against the Baylor Bears.

Wallace recorded the victory in the opening game of Saturday's doubleheader against the nationally-ranked Bears, tossing a complete-game three-hitter, allowing only one run and one walk, while striking out 10 batters.

It was the 13th win of the season for the season right-hander, and her third victory against a nationally-ranked squad this year, along with triumphs over Alabama and South Alabama.

A native of Weatherford, Texas, Wallace is 13-2 with a 1.72 ERA on  the season, along with 149 strikeouts in 99.1 innings.

Wallace is the third Louisiana pitcher, and the fourth UL player to receive a weekly honor by the LSWA this year, joining Christina Hamilton (March 23), Lexie Elkins (March 30), and Alex Jordan (March 30).
