The attorney for a man accused of killing a pizza delivery man has asked the judge for a change of venue for his client.

Attorney Harold Register, who is defending Aaron Orlando Richards on murder charges, asked District Judge Edward Broussard to consider his memorandum in support of a motion for a change of venue.

Register says the influence of local media coverage means his client will be denied a fair trial.  Register presented the memorandum during a Monday morning motion hearing,

Pizza delivery driver Tim Falgout was on his route in Youngsville in 2010 when prosecutors allege he was stabbed to death by Richards.

Richards' trial date is set for July 7.
