Judge Melancon Set to Sign St. Landry Desegregation Settlement

As of news time today, U.S. District Judge Tucker Melancon has not signed  St. Landry Parish public school system's desegregation agreement.  He's expected to sign it by Monday.  His signature will mean the school system will be able to declare "unitary" status after the 42-year desegregation battle.
