LAFAYETTE, La. (AP) — A federal jury has found a Lafayette woman guilty of taking gift cards from the U.S. mail.

Jurors this week found 41-year-old Crystal Boutte guilty of two counts of theft of mail.

U.S. Attorney Stephanie A. Finley's office says Boutte stole four Wal-Mart gift cards from the mail while working for the U.S. Postal Service in December 2012. One gift card was worth $200; the other three were worth $25 each.

The theft was discovered after the recipients reported the cards missing.

Boutte faces five years in prison, restitution and a $250,000 fine for each count.

A sentencing date has not been set.
