Kaplan Man Arrested In Over Twenty-Year-Old Child Molestation Case

57-year-old Henry Johnson has been booked into the Vermilion Parish jail, accused of molesting a juvenile over twenty years ago.

La. State Police say they were notified by Homeland Security this week that the Kaplan man had possibly had a sexual encounter with a child who was then under the age of 10. After meeting with detectives at the Vermilion Parish Sheriff's Office, Johnson was arrested and booked on the molestation charge.

If convicted, Johnson could spend no less than 25 years in prison and no more than 99 years. Police continue to investigate.
