KENNER, La. (AP) — Kenner voters will go to the polls in November to decide whether to change the city's Home Rule Charter to prohibit city workers from participating in politics.

Councilman Keith Reynaud, who proposed the measure, told The Times-Picayune it's a good-government concept.

Reynaud said the proposal stems from his campaign for election in April.

He defeated Mary-Sharon Howland, a former administrator for Mayor Mike Yenni, in April. But Reynaud said Yenni's appointees campaigned for Howland, giving her an early advantage.
