Local football product Kevin Faulk will formally announce his retirement from the NFL tomorrow. The former LSU Tiger and 13-year New England Patriot will retire as the all-time leader in all-purpose yards (12,349), return yards (5,041) and kick return yards (4,098) for the Pats.

He won 3 Super Bowl rings with New England, and is a fan favorite among the Patriot fan base. His retirement ceremony will take place at the Hall at Patriot Place. Owner Robert Kraft and head coach Bill Belichick are expected to speak at the gathering, which is open to the public.

Faulk gave his reasons for retirement to the Boston Herald earlier today.

“It’s not like it was a definite that I was going to come back and play. The (running backs) that they have and the waiting process, I sat down and talked with Bill, and Bill kind of gave me his idea of what he thought it was. From there it was, ‘You know what? It’s time.'"
