SHREVEPORT, La. (AP) — U.S. Attorney Stephanie Finley says a 20-year-old Haughton man has been sentenced to six months in prison for repeatedly violating deer hunting laws in the Kisatchie National Forest.

She said Wednesday that Magistrate Judge Mark Hornsby sentenced Devon Lucas after federal forest rangers found that he had hunted deer out of season and hunted them at night by using spotlights. Finley says there were at least four violations.

Finley says prosecuting such "flagrant violators" maintains the integrity of the sport and preserves forest resources.
