The New Orleans Hornets (11-26) walked into Madison Square Garden Sunday morning beaming with confidence. And why not? They were winners of 4 straight, while the New York Knicks (24-13) had lost 3 in a row. NOLA coach Monty Williams (pictured) warned his young team not to be overly confident based on their overall record.

The Knicks took it to the Hornets 100-87, ending both teams' streaks.

Eric Gordon scored 22 for New Orleans, while Anthony Davis had 13 points and 8 rebounds. Greivis Vasquez scored 11, dished out 6 assists, and pulled down 5 boards. Robin Lopez scored 10, and Al-Farouq Aminu grabbed 11 rebounds.

Turnovers hurt the Hornets' chances, as they gave it to the Knicks 16 times. New York turned those gifts it into 24 points, while they only turned it over 9 times.

Tyson Chandler had a game-high 14 rebounds for NY, and Carmelo Anthony finished with a game-high 27 points. Amar'e Stoudemire scored 12 off the pine, much to the delight of a sold-out MSG.

The Hornets will look to bounce back Tuesday night in Philadelphia. Tip-off versus the 76ers is set for 6:00.
