LA Family Forum Questions UL’s LGBT Studies

Rev. Gene Mills of Louisiana's Family Forum joined 'Mornings With Ken and Bernie' today to discuss the University of Louisiana at Lafayette's plans to offer a minor in Lesbian, Gay, Bi-Sexual, Transgender studies.  NewsTalk 96.5 KPEL did place a call to the office of Dr. Joe Savoie at UL to get more information on the program and we were directed to the UL President's BLOG.

Rev. Mills said,

"While there are appropriate academic applications of something of this nature.  An immersion program into the lifestyle of the gay, lesbian, bi-sexual and transgender lifestyle is probably not purely a purely academic endeavor.  That's the part we are questioning, which part of this is academic and which part is advocacy?"

Mills went on to say that the Family Forum's questioning of the program is not an effort to overthrow or to remove anything but to determine if advocacy is being underwritten at taxpayer expense.
