LA Mineral Board Collects Bonus
The state Mineral and Energy Board collected more than $1.3 million in bonuses in its November lease sale, held in Baton Rouge, as energy companies bid on 15 leases covering more than 4,500 acres.
T he state's mineral lease auctions have generated more than $33.9 million this year. The leases acquired Wednesday at this month's sale are in Beauregard, Bienville, Bossier, Cameron, Jefferson, Lafourche, Plaquemines and Terrebonne parishes. Only two of the 15 leases were sold in north Louisiana. The state had offered 35 leases covering more than 37,900 acres.
