The Louisiana National Guard is headed to Haiti, to render humanitarian aid in the continued recovery from the 2010 earthquake. Spokesman Col. Mike Kazmierzak says this is the second straight year the Guard will help the people of Haiti.  Kazmierzak says a core of about 50 National Guard personnel will remain in Haiti through the summer; overseeing construction of a new school and two new medical treatment clinics. He says the balance of the assigned Guardsmen will be rotated in.
