Wednesday morning Louisiana State Police discovered over 300 pounds of marijuana during a routine traffic stop on I-10 near Henderson. The driver of a Ford 150 pickup truck began acting suspiciously when pulled over so a K-9 unit was brought in and immediately alerted on the vehicle. A search of the vehicle revealed 344 pounds of marijuana and $4,000 in cash. The driver of the truck, 36 year old Hebert Harper of LaPlace and his passenger 22 year old Terrill James of Mobile were arrested and booked into the St. Martin Parish Jail. Both were charged with possession of over 400 grams of marijuana and Harper was also charged with impeding the flow of traffic and illegal window tint. The marijuana seized has a street value of nearly $2 million.
