LACASSINE, La. (AP) — Authorities say 22-year-old Lacassine man has died after he fell about 50 feet from a rice dryer.

The Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office says the body of 22-year-old Timothy Mason Chambers of Lacassine was found lying in a grassy area next to the rice dryer bins at about 6 a.m. Thursday.

Sheriff Ivy Woods tells the American Press Chambers likely climbed to the top of the rice dryer bin and fell from the west side sometime early Thursday.

Woods says Chambers was last seen at about 3 a.m. leaving the home of a relative who lives across the street from the rice dryer.

He says torn pieces of Chambers' shirt were found on top of the dryer.

Woods says the death appears to be accidental.
