Lafayette Bus Involved In Accident; 21 Students Okay

No injuries have been reported following an accident between a Lafayette Parish school bus and a pickup truck.

Captain Kip Judice, Public Information Officer for the Lafayette Parish Sheriff's Office, says the accident happened late Monday afternoon.

"The bus was reportedly struck by a Dodge pickup truck in the 100 block of Kidder Road near LA 1252," Judice says.

The 21 children were students at Carencro Heights Elementary School in Carencro. Judice says most of the students were picked up by their parents.

Judice says the driver of the truck was ticketed for having an expired driver's license, and additional charges could be possible as the investigation continues.
