CEO and President of the Greater Lafayette Chamber of Commerce Jason El Koubi visited 'Mornings With Ken and Bernie' today and announced an upcoming event targeted to new members.

According to El Koubi,

We've got a lot of folks signing up for the Chamber right now, interested in getting more involved.  This something we are doing on November 22 from 11:00am to 1:00pm.  Sort of a lunch hour type thing for anybody that is interested.  It's going to be kind of a networking, educational opportunity for new members to stop by and have lunch with the Chamber.

El Koubi said the event would be informal,

It's going to be real informal with some members, staff and some Chamber Ambassadors.  It's going to be at our office at 804 East St. Mary here in Lafayette...It's a great way to network, learn to promote their business a little bit and meet people dealing with similar challenges and opportunities.

As El Koubi starts his third month with the Lafayette Chamber of Commerce we asked what he was hearing from Chamber members and the community at large and he replied,

There are really three things I'm hearing.  One is that our business community wants us to continue to do a great job with the traditional things that we've done...The second thing I've heard is that folks want their Chamber to be a very strong advocate for the business community...Thirdly, as they look across this great region of Acadiana they want their Chamber to help pull the region together.  One of the things I've heard a lot about is regionalism.
