Lafayette Chamber Pushes I-49 Funding Bill That Could Face Opposition From Other Towns

Road improvement was the topic of discussion when Lafayette Chamber President and CEO Rob Guidry stopped by “Mornings With Ken and Bernie” today.
While more obstacles are being raised to the completion of I-49, the Lafayette Chamber of Commerce continues to look for ways to fund the completion. Mr. Guidry explained a proposed tax bill that the chamber hopes would aid in completing the lengthy project.
A new two year highway bill may make funds available for Lafayette and we are actively pursuing that money as we have since the 1992 when Ray Robinson was Chamber Chairman of the Board. This is a long term, very competitive situation because every community that is growing like Lafayette is in keen competition for a limited amount of funds.
