The Lafayette City Marshal's Office recently assisted a woman who is blind in a store after they arrested two people helping her shop.

The marshals office recently responded to a tip that two people they were looking for were at the Walmart location on the thruway. Upon arrival, they arrested the two people that were wanted.

However, those arrested were with their neighbor, who is blind, at the store. They apparently took her to shop at Walmart and were assisting her in the store when they were arrested.

Once the marshals were aware of the situation, they assisted the woman in her shopping and even drove her home after she was done shopping.

We often hear of all the negativity surrounding police, but there are so many good stories of police helping others and here is one of those stories---from our own backyard.

Job well-done!!
