Lafayette Parish Clerk of Court, Louis Pierret visited 'Mornings With Ken and Bernie' today to discuss plans for tomorrow's election.  According to Pierret, $5.5 million will be spent on tomorrow's elections in Louisiana.  Lafayette Parish will spend roughly $250 thousand to fund the election.

Pierret said,

820 people will be working the election tomorrow in Lafayette Parish. In addition to the election commissioners 57 janitors will be working to unlock and lock the buildings and be on standby for emergency clean-up.

In addition to manpower Pierret noted,

At 122 precincts we will be using 340 voting machines with eight spares.  Should a machine breakdown we can have it replaced in 15 to 30 minutes.
